I am looking for models to appear in a series of experimental photographs that aim to show that although popular perception of nudity is that it is sexual or titillating this is entirely subjective and unnecessary. Each setup (and there will be between twenty and thirty photographs in the final collection) will consist of several models with one or two nude and the others clothed, acting out an everyday situation where nudity would not normally be expected. Everything else about the setups will however appear completely normal, and the nudity of the relevant models will not be noticed by - or cause any reaction in - the others. Some of the scenes will be indoor and some (weather permitting) will be outdoor.
This is initially intended for exhibition, but may transfer into a book if there is any interest. The shoots themselves will take place over an extended period as they will be quite complex to arrange so please do not expect the collection to be complete much before 2011.
As the shoot is experimental, completely unfunded, and will require a large number of participants it will have to be unpaid, but I will of course cover any reasonable expenses, and make sure you get a copy of your photographs.
I am not looking for professional models, but for people who like the sound of the project and would like to be involved. Although in any given photograph not all of the models will be nude it is my intention that each ‘group’ will be used in several setups, and so everyone will at some point take one of the nude roles in at least one scene.
Please send a recent photograph of yourself, your date of birth, and your location (so that I can arrange people into groups that do not require excessive travel) to the email below. Models involved in this project will be required to sign a standard release form and a copy of this is available on request. This is open to anyone, male or female, aged 18-40 (I’m flexible on the 40), with or without any previous modelling experience. All shoots will take place in the UK, and probably in the southern part of the country as I’m based in Kent, although I do travel to south Wales fairly regularly and will be doing at least one of the shoots there.
